After a long day of travel, relax into one of Japan’s most beautiful hot springs - Shirahone Onsen. Enjoy nature immersion in steaming waters, the sophistication of Japanese hospitality, and the tranquility of zen aesthetics amidst fall leaves.
II
Day Two
I N T E N T I O N
After a morning of soaking, IEM journaling, self-activation, and meditation, we journey to the historic Matsumoto castle to discover the way of the Samurai, and their guiding philosophy – Bushido. We explore how the principles of strength, discipline, and purpose relate to your life.
In the evening, experience the cultural richness of Matsumoto and Japanese life through a local’s eye.
III
Day Three
E M B O D Y
Journey by gondola into the sacred mountains of Hakuba. At the summit, we ascend to a beautiful mountain lake. Immerse in nature as sweeping vistas unfold around you, inviting restoration, stillness, and presence.
Move through a refined Tai Chi practice, awakening flow, vitality, and harmony. In the evening, relax in healing mineral waters at a special open-air bath.
IV
Day Four
N A T U R E
Tai Chi, a moving meditation and longevity practice, grounds us with nature and into inner reflection. A local forest guardian guides us in the practice of nature bathing – shinrin-yoku. Feel nature’s role in your life. Discover the vital and sacred importance of water & forests in Japanese society and sustainable living as a way of life. We finish with paper-making to embody this knowledge and savor the understanding in the onsens.
V
Day Five
S T R E N G T H
Revel in awe-inspiring reflections as you bike through golden rice fields being harvested on a 23-mile E-cycle tour through Omachi. As we pass wasabi farms, a product of the purest waters, we discover the Japanese cycle of "water, mountains, gods, and people." After lunch, deepen your embodiment of strength, discipline, and longevity with a karate lesson, then relax into our ryokan’s steaming, ultra-soft, low-alkaline waters.
VI
Day Six
N O U R I S H
Longevity is the art of wellbeing, a process of falling in love with life. Enjoy a delicious visit to a local saké brewery. Learn the process of distillation through handcrafted tastings and visit a temple.
Spend the afternoon with a tea master — experience the art of Tea Ceremony and its relationship with Zen.
The Way Of Tea - "Sadou" - is cultivating Harmony "Wa," Respect "Kei," Purity "Sei," and Tranquility "Jaku."
VII
Day Seven
T H E S A G E
Nutrition, Temples, and Zen. Learn the art of Japanese longevity cuisine through a cooking class with local grandmothers.
Our pilgrimage then takes us to Zenkoji temple. It is said that "just one visit in a lifetime will grant you a place in paradise." Enjoy the rare experience of sleeping in a 1400 year old active monastery – one of the oldest and most revered in Japan.
Learn Zen & meditation from monks.
VII
Day Eight
T H E H E R O
Morning meditation — zazen — with monks and a discourse on how Zen applies to daily life. In the afternoon, we arrive at our final hot spring oasis — deeply culturally refined, for a restorative integration.
IX
Day Nine
D E P A R T U R E
We close our journey with a morning soak, gratitude, community, and a longevity framework to carry home. Tranquility becomes a practice, peace a state of mind, and vitality a way of being. We each journey forward from Nagano after lunch and a closing ceremony.

Tranquility Of Mind
Carefully selected traditional ryokans offer an authentic, premium experience, with your private room featuring tatami floors, washi screens, exclusive mineral hot spring access, and forest views. In Omachi, your sanctuary includes an in-room onsen bath for four nights. One of our last nights is held inside Zenkoji, a 1,400-year-old active monastery—one of Japan's oldest. To honor the monastery’s customs, traditional shared accommodations are part of the experience.

Complete Relaxation.
Step into the healing mineral springs of Nagano and enter Ma (間)—the sacred space between. Since ancient times, these waters have been more than a physical sanctuary; they are a gateway into profound stillness and healing. Every day of our hot spring pilgrimage will include intentional soak time in some of the best healing mineral springs of Japan. In the quietude of the bath, allow worries of self to dissolve. By embracing this intentional pause, we shed the burdens of the world, creating a luminous space for the mind and body to thrive.

A Biological Upgrade.
Diverse Nutrients
Every ryokan features a rotation of probiotic miso, mineral-dense seaweeds, and forest fungi to diversify your microbiome. Balance your energy with Genmai (brown rice) and Matcha, providing sustained fuel and high-polyphenol protection for your cells.
The Mother’s Kitchen
Our signature longevity cooking class — local mothers teach the art of traditional, anti-inflammatory home cooking rooted in local seasonal produce and centuries of health.

Whether in a Zen monastery or a mountain inn, every dish is a transition into a lifestyle of sustainable thriving.
